What you get

In this stripped down version, we will produce a 30 minute documentary film where we will focus on a local, Brooklyn or NYC based dancer competing in the Red Bull BC One World Final.

Our main character will be carefully casted out of the pool of competitors and comes with a personal life story that is exciting to our viewers.

We will follow our main character in their daily life and as they prepare for the big tournament in an up close and personal way.

We will of course also get to see how they do in the big event itself.

In addition to this we will also include the history of breaking through interviews with a select few of the art forms' most legendary names.

To add to a pleasing visual experience we will also use the breakers from Brooklyn Nets Team Hype dancing in a variety of eye-catching locations throughout the city.

THE DETAILS

Breaking is coming home

Breaking is coming home - the Red Bull BC One World Final returns to the birthplace of hip hop. This is a perfect time to celebrate the culture with a magical documentary film where we will showcase some of the world’s most amazing breaking talent, tell compelling personal stories, create wonderful dance scenes and tell the story of how breaking made it’s way from the streets of New York all the way to achieving Olympic status in the upcoming 2024 games.

GROUNDBREAKERS

In the film we also get to meet some of the most influential and groundbreaking figures in breaking.

In beautifully shot sit down interviews they will make the history of this art form come alive and they will guide us from the early days all the way to how breaking took over the world and finally became an Olympic event.

MOOD

For some segments we want to move the Breakdance into the more “classy”.

With the sport being an olympic sport in 2024, things like the sit down interviews would be shot in a very high end classy style.

Well lit, in a nice location. Not necessarily the expected “empty warehouse” or in front of a graffiti wall, but rather a high end, more classy location. That is also to create the “seriousness” of the sport, and to create a contrast from the street style were we are used to see breakdance.

For the Verité part of the film it will be shot in a  very stylistic way, with cinema as inspiration., With a mix of smooth hand held, dolly shots, car rig shots we are creating a beautiful yet fun and diverse cinematic experience. .

A big part of the scenes will be directed in a way to make the visual very pleasing.
